The Inmedius® S1000D Process Editor employs advanced visualization technology to enable any user to quickly and easily picture even the most complex data structures. The S1000D authoring and editing tool provides S1000Dmanager users with a flowchart or dialog tree environment to easily observe the overall logical structure of the Process Data Module (DM) and then effortlessly edit the module. By simply dragging and dropping components, users can now author and edit Process Data Modules (DMs) of any complexity.

Increase Productivity, Reduce Training Time

The powerful interface provides users with WYSIWYG capabilities while editing Process Data Modules (DMs) in a self-contained environment. With the easy-to-use S1000D authoring and editing software, authors no longer need to be an S1000D™ expert. Even non-XML users are now able to edit and manage Process Data Modules (DMs) by rearranging the process components and entering data into simple dialogs.

Save Money by Producing High Quality Output Every Time

The true power of the Inmedius S1000D Process Editor is that while you drag and drop, the software automatically manipulates the underlying complex XML data structures. The end result is a well-formed S1000D compliant file that can be created by almost any user.

Detailed Features

Edit the Data Module by simply dragging and dropping different elements from various locations.S1000D Process Module Visual Editor

Adding, Moving & Removing Elements

The flowchart environment enables easy editing by providing a illustrated view of the Process Data Module (DM). With this S1000D authoring solution users can edit the Data Module (DM) by simply dragging and dropping different elements from various locations.
  • Adding Elements: Select components from the Library and place within the diagram view
  • Moving Elements: Drag elements from different locations within the flowchart view. Connection points are automatically created
  • Removing Elements: Delete elements from the diagram view. When deleting a component that is a parent of a child component all of the child components are deleted including components that are both visible and invisible.

Edit Attributes of Components

The S1000D authoring and editing tool also provides a “breadcrumb” view of each component. In the breadcrumb view, users can edit various attributes of the component. Properties can be edited or deleted. Components can also be moved up or down in the flowchart.

Variable & Dialog Tabs

Tabs enable S1000D authors to effortlessly create and edit variables and dialog. Users can view a current list of variables configured for the process and create new variables. Settings of existing variables can be quickly changed or removed. The Dialog Tab is also used to manage the Dialog element and its children. Users can create and update dialog object items, such as prompts, menus, and fill-ins.

Visualize & Edit S1000D ExpressionsS1000D Expression Editor

Visualize & Edit S1000D Expressions

The S1000D Expression Editor takes the different XML elements in S1000D and edits the expression element within them, or creates one if it does not exist. Expressions include complex elements such as values, math, strings, sets and Booleans. Users can easily edit this complex logic by dragging and dropping components in the flowchart environment. The Expression Editor is divided into four sections:
  • Component Library: Provides users with access to expression components for drag and drop building of the expression.
  • Diagram View: Shows expression in a diagram layout and enables the user to visually edit an expression and move to different locations by dragging and dropping items from the Component Library.
  • Expression Preview: Displays the expression in standard mathematical notation.
  • Edit Panel: Exhibits the current configuration of a selected item and allows a user to edit that item.

Retrieving information directly from the CSDBIntegration with S1000Dmanager

Access to Common Source Database (CSDB)

The S1000D Process Editor may be embedded in the Inmedius S1000D management system and the integration of these products supplies visibility and access to data stored in the Common Source Database (CSDB). As a result, users can quickly and efficiently access S1000D projects to locate and open assigned Data Modules by retrieving information directly from the Common Source Database (CSDB) .

Reach Exceptional Levels of Performance & Efficiency

The S1000D Process Editor is one of three powerful S1000D authoring solutions providing a seamless user experience for authoring and editing content.   Along with AuthorPro™ XE and AuthorPro it may be embedded in the Inmedius S1000Dmanager, a management system which simplifies the complex task of implementing the S1000D Common Source Database (CSDB) and provides a single point for data access. The integration of these products supplies visibility and access to data stored in the Common Source Database (CSDB) for the benefit of S1000D authors and project managers.

S1000Dmanager is a project setup and management support system that is one of seven modules of the integrated Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite™. The S1000D Publishing Suite, a fully integrated lifecycle software solution, is used to successfully manage the technical documentation publication process.
