Detailed Features
 PDF Creation
Convert either a single PDF file for each Data Module (DM), or merge a series of DMs into one linear PDF. There are three publishing options:
- DM within a directory structure
- Publication Module (PM) and all associated DMs
- Validation Pack selects single DM and publishes it along with any associated referenced DM.

Information codes are utilized to identify these sections. Final publications may contain additional matter not found in the source DM.

Documentation Structure Formatting
Chapter Titling and Numbering
Specify titles to appear at the beginning of each chapter section and sub-section in order to have the PDF output mirror a conventional printed hard copy. Output can be tailored with configurable titles and numbering. The software uses logic to highlight unresolved references, and replicates any directory structure that might exist between published documents.
Reference Link Management
Converts the <refdm> elements to PDF links and automatically names and numbers chapters, sections and sub-sections according to the position of source files in the PM structure – providing an interactive PDF file to the end user.
<reftp> elements within a multi-volume publication are also converted to PDF links, allowing them to be linked to external publications. <xref> elements are retained as internal links.
 Multi-Volume Publishing
Allows printing of a composite publication with separate volumes, where each volume is a standalone publication. Publications can be divided by:
- First Level Substructure Top level PDF contains Global Table of Contents, Indexes.
- By Publication All ‘child’ publications create their own PDF files.

Effectivity Processing
Integrated with S1000Dmanager and S1000DauthorPro, the software provides a full Effectivity/Applicability workflow process:
Applicability Tagging
Specific configuration information, such as serial number, is defined in S1000Dmanager and applied to DM content in S1000DauthorPro.
Effectivity Profiles
Collections of Applicabilities relevant to a particular publication are defined in S1000Dmanager and selected as part of a Looseleaf printing in Transition.
Filtering
Inclusion and exclusion of DM content based on a selected Effectivity for print output.
Labeling
DM content, whether filtered to an Effectivity or not, can be labeled according to the descriptive title assigned to the Applicability

Change Page Management
Manage updates, additions to a document during its lifecycle, only producing output for pages that have changed. The software generates point pages and paragraph breaks. Using the PM, the system stores a list of DMs that reflect this hierarchy as chapters, sections and subsections. Transition allows control of:
- List of Effective Pages (LOEP)
- Index and generated list production
- Full and incremental revisions with full pagination management

Format Output
Multi-Purpose, Single Source S1000D
Use a common data source document for both military and commercial publishing. Output S1000D™ documents to other output types and publication specifications, including:

Batch PDF
Publish collections of DMs directly from the file system or PM with conventional DM formatting to single or multiple PDFs. Options allow printing with:
- Inwork Markings Details DM issue, number & incremental review number.
- Time Stamp Details Day/Time DM printed.
Tool Set
Efficiently perform tasks on source files, including:
- Removal of Processing Instructions (PI) Removes the PIs specific to the authoring environment, creating a pure SGML or XML file.
- Check for Errors Batch document integrity and business rules checks using Inmedius S1000DauthorPro Advisor Tool.
- Renaming of Files Allows series of files to be renamed according to certain rules, such as restrictions applied by some commercial CSDB products
